Biography
I’m passionate about fairness, equality, and community empowerment. As an educator and advocate for marginalized groups—including students and seniors—I’ve dedicated my life to building stronger communities, here and abroad. My public service includes volunteer work with the Vancouver Foundation and the Burnaby Art Gallery, as well as international development work across East Africa focused on education, teacher training, and improving access to learning. As a husband and proud father of two, I understand the everyday challenges Canadians face.
Canada is at a crossroads. We can keep repeating the same cycle—choosing leaders who protect the status quo—or we can be bold. We can demand real change: change that improves the lives of everyday workers, students, seniors, and the vulnerable in our communities. We can stand up for public institutions that are well-funded, where freedom of speech and academic freedom are upheld, where unions and the right to organize are respected, and where our economic future is rooted in sustainability and climate action—and where everyday Canadians can once again believe in the promise of a better tomorrow.
Rooted in compassion and action, I’m committed to representing Vancouver Quadra with integrity and vision. Together, we can build a stronger, fairer, and more hopeful future for all.
Reason for running
I’m running because I believe Canada should be a place where people can live with dignity — where our seniors can age with care, where working people are treated with respect, and where life is actually affordable for families trying to get by.
I’m running because I believe in sustainability — not just environmentally, but economically and socially. We need long-term thinking that protects the planet, values people over profits, and builds systems that serve future generations.
I’m running because I believe in peace — not just the absence of war, but the presence of justice. That means building stronger communities, de-escalating conflict, and leading with compassion at home and abroad.
And I’m running because I want all children growing up in Canada — including my own daughters — to feel hopeful about their future. A future where decent work is valued, where unions are respected, and where the people who build our communities aren’t left behind.
Politics shouldn’t be about division or status. It should be about making life better for everyday people. That’s what the NDP has always stood for. And that’s the kind of leadership I’m bringing to Vancouver Quadra.
